The evening was a great success thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

8th January 2008

Another busy day at the booth, again we received nothing but praise for the product.
Today CES starts in earnest, so a 7:30 start in the exhibition hall to get the booth setup. The unwashed masses will appear at around 9:00 so we wait with trepidation to see what sort of response we are going to get to for Ergo.
CES 2008 - Press Updates
6th January 2008

Following yesterdays CES Unveiled press event the first reviewers are giving their thougts on Ergo, and all we can say is wow !
CES Unveiled is the annual press CES show, to highlight some of the products which will be appearing at the main show. There are only 60 companies at this press event and we are one of them. The event held in a small conference room in the Sands hotel is packed to the rafters with journalists from every conceivable publication you can think of.So after finding our booth and setting up the demonstration machines a Lenovo x61 and an exclusive Dell Latitute XT Tablet (currently rarer than hens teeth) we wait with baited breath for the hordes to descend.
The next 3 hours are a maelstrom of cameras, notepads and grabbing hands with people eager to get the scoop on the latest and greatest technology and get as many freebies as possible.Ergo is generating huge amounts of interest, everyone wants a demonstration of the software that is drawing them in with its eye candy appeal. John and Justin go hoarse from demonstrating the software repeatedly, with Ben and I on standy when they just can't take anymore.Everybody is loving Ergo and not one descenting voice in the ranks of journalists, there is definately a buzz growing around the software. Finally the 3 hours is up and the hordes drift away leaving us a bit frayed around the edges but with a definite feeling that we might just be onto a winner. We should received some reciprocal press very soon, check back later for updates.
CES 2008 - The Journey Part 2
4th January 2008

Up early in Dusseldorf, we have a plane to catch back to Heathrow. Back at Heathrow, approximately 48 miles from Stansted and about 24 hours later, a quick calculation tells me we have been travelling at a steady 2 miles and hour, at current speed we should reach Vegas for CES in 2020 !
Arrived in Pheonix and awaiting for the baggage, and waiting and waiting. Well it appears BA in their infinite wisdom have failed to load our display stand on the flight, but they were kind enough to supply us with a sheet of paper telling us as much (and $200 compensation, which is nice) ! So off to a good start, now the final leg of the journey from Pheonix to Las Vegas.
Finally arrived in Vegas and have no idea what time is and neither does anybody else, body clocks completely shot. Time to get some sleep and prepare for tomorrows CES Unveiled Press Event.
CES 2008 - The Journey Part 1

Leaving the office at 1pm, flight from London Stansted not until 8:15 pm but heavy snow forecast so making sure we are leaving in plenty of time. A typicaly english weather forecast, only sign of snow was about 5 flakes, unlikely to slow down a passenger jet but I suppose anything is possible !
Load of time to kill in the airport terminal, food and refreshment in order, orange juices all round ;)
Flight to Dusseldorf, Germany is quick and painless, got to love the Germans for their ruthless efficiency, we spent more time waiting in Stansted terminal than on the flight.
Now you may well be asking yourself at this point why we are flying to Dusseldorf to get to Las Vegas, and you would be asking a very sensible question. Being the patriotic brits that we are we want to use our national carrier British Airways, however their current pricing structure leaves a lot to be desired.
It is cheaper to fly to Dusseldorf spend a night in a hotel and then get a business class British Airways flights from Dusseldorf back into London Heathrow and then onto Phoenix than it is to book a coach seat direct from London Heathrow to Phoenix, go figure. All we can say is with the help of British Airways we are doing our bit to increase our carbon footprint, we are supposed to be increasing it right ;)
